WHAT IS VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION?

“VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATAION” Is a concentrated Ghanaian (N.G.O) for community based sanitation capacity. It aims at working with the people, for the people and by the people in a definite territorial community to improve basic access to sanitation and beautification.
“VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION” popularly known as “VOCOSA” is the preliminary eye or Door - to - Door Sanitation facility network. It is a legally established and well organized Civil Society Organization with a hierarchical structure of Executive Coordinator, Programme Assistant coordinator, Permanent Secretary etc with the good intention of working together in ensuring the highest good for the community. It values each and every contribution by a person or a group of people irrespective of age and background. It further aims at:

AIMS AND OBJECTIVE

VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION (VOCOSA)

BY ONE WAY OF SOLVING THE PROBLEM:

  • VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION: Aims to embark on community based sanitation projects and initiatives both in partnership with overseas volunteers for a period of 1 day or more.
  • VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION: Aims to extend sanitation into beautification (re – construction, Renovation, building of day care centers and primary school etc.)
  • VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION: Aims to reduce poverty / unemployment by creating poverty alleviation and economic self – reliance activities (volunteer farms etc) for unemployment people likely at risk to be exposed to criminal commission of an offence, thereby redistributing wealth and creating jobs
  • VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION: Aims to embark on a familiarization group tour for VOCOSA Volunteer members to enhance the spirit of volunteering.
  • VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY SANITATION: Aims to solicit funds into ( volunteer for community sanitation development fund) popularly known as (VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT FUND) ( grants, donations) from foreign ( NGOs), related organization, diplomatic missions, philanthropists, donor agencies, charitable aid foundations, cooperate institutions, concern citizens etc to run the organization activities (observing International Volunteer Day (IVD) on every 5th December of the year. Under the United Nations general Assembly resolution 40/212 on 17th dedcember, 1985.
